Dam storage today: search, sort and this year against last

Today's reservoir table covers the large dams that report every day. It can now be searched, filtered and sorted as you like, each dam has a 30-day line in the table, and each dam's page charts the daily storage since January against last year, with the normal storage and the rule curves.

How to use it

  1. Search and filter

Type a dam or a province, or pick a region or a storage level such as Above normal storage or Low, 30% or less.

  2. Sort

Press a heading such as Share of capacity or Change in 7 days, and again to reverse it. On phones, use the Sort by menu.

  3. Read the 30 days

The small line is the last 30 days of storage. The change in 7 days says how many million cubic metres the reservoir gained or lost; inflow and release are today's.

  4. See the year

Press a dam's name. Its page charts this year in colour against last year in grey; the red dashed line is the normal storage and the dotted lines the upper and lower rule curves.

Good to know

Share of capacity
Against the capacity at normal storage level: above 100% the reservoir holds more than normal. Red is above normal storage, amber 30% or less.
Rule curves
The range a dam is meant to be kept within through the year. Above the upper curve a dam usually has to release more; below the lower one it holds less than it should for the season.
Days that look wrong
Now and then the source jumps for a single day and returns the next; those days are left out of the chart.

Where the data comes from

Daily reservoir figures from the National Hydroinformatics Data Center (ThaiWater), the same series ThaiWater charts on its own dam pages.

Frequently asked questions

Why are some dams not in the table?
The table holds the dams that report their storage every day. The others are in the list of all dams.
How is the change in 7 days worked out?
The latest day's storage minus the storage 7 days before, in million cubic metres.
